We offer you fast access to a one-stop clinic for gynaecological health and consultant-led assessment. As part of a one-stop service, your consultation will include discussion of your concerns, consultant assessment and a range of diagnostic tests to assess your overall gynaecological health, or address a particular health concern. Diagnostic tests available as part of our one-stop service include:
• a pelvic examination
• ultrasound of the ovaries and womb
• a cervical smear test
• endometrial biopsy if suspected endometrial pathology
• a blood test to screen for ovarian cancer (Ca 125) and bowel cancer (CEA) if suspected ovarian pathology
The results of diagnostic tests will be available within couple of days to enable a speedy diagnosis and reduce the anxiety of waiting for results. Your consultant will explain the results to you and, if necessary, advise you on the options recommended for further diagnosis or treatment.
